In the early days of guitar amplifiers, musicians were given nothing but a simple volume knob (and yeah, sometimes a tone control). With these basic devices, a bulk of “the sound” came from the instrument and the fingers, and the amplifier’s job was to just make it louder. Still, the elusive texture and character that makes these old amps so desirable today is all thanks to the interaction of tubes, transformers, and small’n’stressing speaker cones.
The OAHU amplifier is cut from the same cloth. Gone are all of the unnecessary knobs, switches, buttons, and effects. Instead, the OAHU offers a wide range of volume, drive, and tonal capability (bridge the inputs and blend the channels to find your flavor)…and a dynamic response that will raise the hairs on your neck. An ideal amp for the recording studio, you can run it wide open for immense tone and drive without needing multiple layers of earplugs to go out and move the mic.
A 10” Eminence speaker and open back cabinet are standard on all OAHUs, but these amps do come in a couple different tube/rectifier configurations and colors. Call or e-mail Sean, resident guitar-geek, if you’re not sure which one you want or need for the tone you’re going for.
