When the guys from Independent Audio brought the Smart AV Tango to our shop, we were all quite impressed… and it's not an easy feat to impress us with a controller. After all, the controller has the least to do with audio than anything else in the DAW chain. What impressed us was the build quality (heavy and solid), the screen (touch sensitive), the layout (ergonomic and simple), and the ease of use. The touch screen is the coolest… literally, you touch a control, like an insert or pan, or a buss send, and that function is instantly put front and center allowing access via the multi-function, touch sensitive rotary control knobs. The Tango makes a truly unique centerpiece for any workstation be it for audio recording, editing, mixing, mastering or even video editing… which is the next test on our list.

Bottom line: this is the controller that we at Mercenary have been looking for. Enough said.
