Wind is a powerful and terrible force for ribbon microphones and if you think about it for a minute you'll hopefully realize why… ok, we did say hopefully. Ribbon microphone elements are, in essence, a very thin strip of aluminum (for Royer mics) and with one good puff anyone can blow the house down. Lucky for you Royer has some of the highest quality wind deterrents known including this simple foam windscreen which is designed for the Royer R-121 and Royer R-122. And hey, if you do blow the ribbon (or stretch it beyond usefulness) your first re-ribboning is free.
