Mercenary Editions? What's the big deal?

Well...we're all engineers at our place, so every now and again we get together with different manufacturers, and create a "Mercenary Edition". It's either a twist on an existing product, a complete and total overhaul of one of their existing products, or a brand new product. As time rolls along, you'll see a couple of more of these things every year (until we run out of stuff to bitch about... or manufacturers that will listen while we piss and moan).

There are a couple more already in the works [there is one manufacturer we've been passing the proto-type back and forth for over a year and a half already... it's close, but it ain't there yet].
