The third model in Lynx's AES16e PCI Express line of cards features the new AES50 digital audio protocol. This allows up to 32 channels of AES/EBU I/O as well as sample clock and control data to be transmitted using CAT5e or CAT6 cable. This is in addition to the 16 channels of digital I/O available on the card's DB26 ports.
