The Vog Analog bass resonance tool is the latest creation from Little Labs, and the first product from Little Labs to come in the popular 500 series format. The Vog was originally designed to capture the chest resonance of vocalists or voice over artists, enabling them to still have a proximity type effect without having to be so close to the microphone, Hence the name, Vog or Voice of God. Once heard on a kick drum and a bass it became clear this would be the go to device to make these instruments sound huge. The Vog allows you to sweep a sharp peak resonance from 20 to 300 Hz with anything below the peak eliminated at 24dB per octave. This allows you to focus on the low end you want, while eliminating mush and unnecessary woofer excursion. A sub harmonic can be the focus, or the fundamental, or upper harmonics. Sonically on a kick drum for example, it sounds like you are tightening or loosening the drum head, as you rotate the frequency knob. In a mix it allows you to place the bass spectrum instruments so they do not get in the way of each other.
