The RM2J has the shape and styling of an old German U-47 and employs the miniature tube and airy nature of an old German M-49. Described as open, musical, brilliant, rich, full and opulent by everyone from famous record producers (with credits like Paul McCartney and Kelly Clarkson) to "weekend warriors". Perfect for rich, stately vocals in Red/cardioid mode, and an incredible distance mic or string/acoustic mic in Blue/variable pattern mode, the RM2J will become the microphone that defines your collection.

The Horch RM2J is a completely new tube microphone design. Fitted with Horch's own designed 4 micron capsule capsule and a very special tube circuit and fat transformer, the Horch RM2J offers a very open, smooth sound. The bottom is VERY solid, not muddy.

The Horch microphone is switchable between fixed cardioid mode [red] and multipattern [blue]. This switch is located on the front of the microphone. While there is a cardioid pattern available in the multipattern mode, it has a different sound and texture than the fixed cardioid pattern of the "red" mode. In "red", the rear diaphragm element of the microphone is turned off, creating a wider cardioid response pattern and enhanced proximity effect.

Additionally, the RM2J comes with a NOS Telefunken 5654 tube, which is a selected 6AK5W1 with military specs.
