There’s a lot we could say about the Greg Hanks Design BA-660. We could talk about how rare, esoteric, and mythical it is. We could talk about how over-designed and over-built it is. We could talk about the nearly unnecessary amount of headroom and the specifications that would make an Audio Precision machine smile and applaud. We could talk about the very unique and immensely flexible limiter section, and the world of tone shaping it can provide. How about all of the notable studios and musicians that scooped them up and will not part with them for any reason or price?

Or…we can just tell you that new BA-660’s are available on a BUILD-TO-ORDER basis, exclusively through Mercenary Audio.

No compromises to the design have been made, and with the exception of ditching the PCMCIA “expansion port” for different limiter presets (the original presets are just fine, thank you!) these are exactly the same as the units people have been using and lovingly abusing for the last 15 years.

Stock limiter presets are Greg Hanks’ impressions of the Fairchild 660, Teletronix LA2A, Neve 2254, SSL Quad Buss compressor, and RCA BA6A. However, if you have something else in mind, it can be arranged.
