When I got the 65’s into the the Methods and Applications Laboratory, [after burning them in for several hours with the house CD player providing the tunes] I felt immediately, that Focal had produced another quality range of monitors that could provide results in the small project, OR the large recording studio environment. After I worked with them for a while, that statement became tattooed on my forehead!!! The only “compact” thing is the size of these workhorses, so expect large amounts of detail with very effective translation to the outside world of “re-production speakers”. They are true to the audio in every way, and from my experience in tracking and rough mixing with them, they are certainly not lacking in mid range and bottom octave detail.
