"A couple of weeks ago when I was in New York working with Tony Wilson on our New York extension we had dinner with Tony Cariddi [Apogee's East Coast representative] who showed us the "Duet" and played us a little ditty he had recorded with it on his iPhone. We were all actually pretty impressed as he had recorded it with a pair of SM-58's in a rehearsal space and it was MP-3 quality... but it had a clarity and presence I would never have expected from such a simple recording rig."

"The following week Tony came up to the Mercenary-Boston offices where we installed a TAB-funkenwerks output transformer into his SM-58... and while we were at it, we recorded a "before and after" with that 58. Tony played guitar and sang into the mic before we did the mod... which was recorded through the Duet into his laptop and monitored through our control room monitor system. We then repeated the song after we had done the modification to the mic, again through the Duet to the laptop through our monitor system."
