Since the dawn of modern recording there have been mixers. Since people started to realize that Pro-Tools sounds like ass when you try to mix "in the box" there has been a need to sum the audio in the analog domain through either a mixer or a "summing box". As you can perform level and panning moves within most DAW's it became apparent that all you really needed for superior audio are good quality D/A converters and to send your audio out via stems to a high quality summing buss. We feature several of these from SPL, Dangerous Music as well as Roll Music"s "Folcrum" unit which can employ a set of your mic pre's as it's output gain make up amplifiers. There is also the Speck "LiLo" [Line In, Line Out] console which can function as a hybrid between a mixer and "stem summing buss". |
